Three little birds outside my window...

...singing, every little thing, is gonna be alright.

I just love that song :)

Anyway, aren't these a couple of cuties? We
had noticed that Lilly kept getting harrased
by this Mockingbird everytime she was out
front. After putting two and two together we
became aware of the nest in one of our front
trees and started keeping an eye on the little
family. This was taken just two days before
they flew the coop (last weekend), but hopefully
mama comes back next year because it was awfully
entertaining to watch her dive bomb Lilly!

Fourth of July

Our 4th of July weekend was sparktacular! Ryan
and I had such a great time together!! We also
had a little guest, Tia, which was fun for Linus
and Lilly too!!

June at the ballpark

is HOT!!

When the seats are as good as the ones we were
sitting in for a girls day at the Rangers game, though,
the temperature doesn't even matter :)

Memorial Day Weekend

We celebrated the long weekend with a camping trip
at Lake Whitney with friends.

It was Lilly's first time swimming. As you might
imagine she is not exactlymade for the water
but she did her best when forced into it. Mostly
she just sat close to the edge so her feet were
in and she could watch the kids and other dogs.

May

brought us a new MRS. SKINNER!!!

Nic and Amanda got married the weekend
after our first anniversary...it was a
wonderful week.

Preperations and Celebrations:

April

I planted flowers and a garden, rearranged my front
flower bed and we planted a peach tree! We just enjoyed
a couple of peaches this last week, but the birds and bugs
got most of them...any suggestions of how to keep them
out without using pesticides?

Also, Ryan got something he had been wanting for quite
some time...

a flat screen for the bedroom

Camping in March

Although it was a lovely evening, it turned into a
very, very cold night!

February

February 14, 2008 was the night that Ryan proposed
to me down on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. We were
gloriously happy this night...and still are. I think this
photo from that night really captures those emotions.

This February we kept busy with a couple projects:

And on Valentines Day we painted our bathroom
and then cooked a Lobster dinner...it was scrumptious!
The bathroom has turned into one of my favorite
rooms in our house, in fact, the tub seems to be calling to
me right now...a long hot soak while reading a good book
is quite irresistable :)

And more snow...

January brought visitors

We had a blast with Nic, Amanda, Chloe and Peyton
when they came for the week...

I can't believe I did not get a photo of it, but let
this image boggle your brain:
A rat riding a cat who is riding a dog.

Ryan does not believe me either... talk to Nic and
Amanda to verify :)

Hello there again...

I know it has been a really long time since I have posted anything
for you, and I am truly sorry. During the fall, school took over
most of my free time and therefore my updating was put on the
back burner and never really returned to the front :) However, I
am back and I am going to do my best to keep you semi up-to-date!!

Now, where were we?? Ah, yes, time for Christmas decorations...
Here's the start of a quick FFW through the past eight months:

December:
We weren't able to go back to the ville's (Evansville and Louisville)
for Christmas last year, but home is where the heart is...right? It
was a special treat to have my mom, dad, brother, Lish and Matt
out to spend the holiday season with us.

Matt and Lish were here to experience what is practically
a once-in-a-lifetime event: a white Texas Christmas!
It was pretty magical...

It was completely melted two days later...
